'Might is Right'- and - 'Only Might has the Right'

Must have been around a month or so, I finished my lunch, outstretched my arms and got up to keep the plate in sink. Mumma likes no nuisance and does not like to see dirty plates lying on the table. Sink of my kitchen adjoins a window which gives a view of ‘green belt’ declared by Haryana government. Through the net of my kitchen’s window, I observed a pigeon making relentless efforts to build its nest on window sill. It was getting hay, wires, wooden stems, and all sorts of things. It was interesting to watch it building its house but I was equally perturbed by the fact that if it makes its nest here, it would be a complete mess-it will lay eggs, do the shit (literal shit), make noises and what not. Taking a rational stand, I shooed it away for few times and went back to my room. Everyday I got back to home and would go to kitchen I used to find a few stems lying on the sill, which I used to blow away. But on one day, I found an entire nest with hundreds of stems on the corner of the sill. Since the window of kitchen is covered with iron mesh, this time I could neither blow it, nor remove it. And as a I had though after a day or two, the pigeon had laid eggs there. The child in me liked to see the bird and its eggs, every day I would find the pigeon sitting on eggs and one day there were two little chicks on the nest. In a very hackneyed and filmy style, it would not be wrong to say that the sight of two little chicks made me a changed man; they made my stone heart melt! Chicks always do the magic on me, you know…

I saw them growing up every day, I would often throw a few grains through the spaces in mesh. They kept making different types of noises, chirpy, whistling, and cooing. And noises of fluttering wings were an add-on. As you go near them, they would close their eyes in fear. Fear of unknown, fear of strangers, fear of death. I never knew, their fear would get real. Today, I saw a cat on the outer side of my window sill; it caught the baby pigeons and ate them right in front of my eyes… It felt pathetic and terrible. That’s the law of nature, big fish eats small fish, that is how we make the ecological balance, but my brain finds it hard to register this fact. What is the purpose of life of such small fishes? What is the certainty of their lives? Why did they come into existence if they had to die in such a miserable manner? Be it any sphere of world, the only rule that works is the survival of the fittest, and the saddest part is we define fittest merely by power…

P.S. - Find Strings Attached

Life has become a routine… day after day, doing everything that I am supposed to do, living it as I should, but as I take a pause and think about it, I realize I am not living my life. It is mere sustenance. Life will keep going like this and in the blink of an eye, it will get over. My life is like running on a tread-mill, I will keep running but will not cover any distance, will never reach my destination. I am running, running fast to get ahead of everybody else, running fast to meet the deadlines, sometimes even to beat the deadlines… But what will I get at the end of it? 50 years hence, when I will look through the window of my home, or will flip through the pages of my photo album, I will then realize what did I earn all these years and what did I loose. So why don’t I live my life to the fullest? Why don’t I live larger than life? Why don’t I do what I want to do? I confess I am not bold enough; I don’t have enough courage to stand up and live only for myself thinking only of ‘my’ present…i find numerous strings attached to me, which will always control all my movements and actions...

Strange Relationships

Since the age of 8-9, I have been going to a vegetable market which gets laid every monday on the main road near my home. I remember myself as a kid, holding hand of my mother n a jute bag in the other hand, i used to walk through the busy road which had hardly any space left for other commuters. Carwallahs making their way through squeezed roads...Most of the stalls had kerosene lamps, while only a few others used bright halogen bulbs. Walking through it has always been fun, vendors call out loud to attract attention of customers and some even use innovative rhyming phrases like "lal khaoge lal ho jaoge, aisa tamatar kahi aur nahi paoge.." The market looks vibrant and alive, colourful fruits and vegetables clearly laid out, vendors sprikling water to make them look fresh, yellow lights, wide dark ebony sky above and hundreds of people wearing different ccoloured clothes and doing different things, making you feel that you are looking at world from a kaleidoscope. Observing people alone can amuse you for hours...

We have fixed vendors from whom we purchase fruits and vegetables and i am seeing those faces for years now. They all know us, wish me n my mom everytime we go to them- "Ram Ram bauji, Ram Ram Didi jee"... Somewhere in the midddle of bazaar we have a vendor from whom we purchase potatoes. A thin, shy person with an ever smiling face. Along with his son who was forbidden from the normal life of a child he has been laying his makeshift shop for more than a decade now... I have hardly spoken to him, my mumma is more verbose, she would ask him about his village, his son, which class is he in, and what not. And all i do is stand at the side and watch the girl next to me, bowing down to choose potatoes... Last week, i was coming back from office and was walking through the monday-market when my bag slightly hit a muscular man of 30's and he started fighting with me... At that moment, that potato-wala came up and started speaking on my behalf... It was strange, firstly it made me feel like a kid, being protected by others, n secondly i felt a strange relationship with that potato-seller... I didnt know how to react, i just smiled and said thanks, to which he replied "arre koi nahi bhaiya". Sometimes, such undefined relationships prove better than many other relationships. It is such strange relationships that bring back what most of us have forgotten in our fast-paced lives... Humanity!

Whaaaaattt eeeeeeejjj??

bahhh... This is one of those moments when my irritation level is reaching new heights, and i feel like clenching my teeth, flexing my fingers, rubbing my palms and give somebody a solid punch... but the Newton's third law of motion suspends the thought... :(

I dont know if im very smart and matured or if the rest of world is too silly and immatured to see the bigger picture and take a rational stand. I find everybody... literally Everybody silly or stupid... people lack simple sense of humour, wit, expect miliard of things from almost everybody, over-react to situations, become melodramatic, get over-sensitive and would afflict you with the whip of their "emotional atyachaar"... stoppppppp... Its not that im very callous or insensitive; i cry watching movies, i feel bad when India loses a match, i get hurt when a girl says you are like my brother, which proves that im full of emotions , but heyy come on you cant over-do things... Get real mann... take an aerial view... look at the bigger picture... think... think 360 degrees from every person's perspective and then choose whether to react on it or simply ignore it...

Just a matter of Time...

Time... Time... Time... when i look aound, think about anything, everything seems to be just a matter of time... prince or a pauper, an ordinary man or a ravishing showstopper...walking in a shoe which is torn or driving a battery motor in golf lawn... plain bread and butter or a 7 course meal, you might be on cloud 9, or being tested by severest ordeal... time and just the time will heal... i see teens driving fast, and i see them spending fortunes "to have a blast"... i see my friends going after girls like insane, i see them shattered, going through pain... Time, and Time alone would heal them...i see my colleagues fighting for a promotion or a raise in their pay, some going over the top, some taking the wrong way... you might have screwed an exam or just had a bad day...this is all i have to say... Its just a matter of time, you will get what you deserve one fine day...

Thinking Aloud...

"If you will love your job, what will your girlfriend get?"

I love this time of the year...

Its 1Am at night and I am sitting beside the window of my bedroom. Cool gentle wind caressing my face, my house dimly lit, complete silence and nobody around me... I enjoy the company of my own... After coming back from office at 9, i become a couch potato, sit in front of the television and get ready to be peeled off by some stupid yet interesting reality shows. Somtimes i get irked at myself thinking "dude, what are you watching? How does it matter to you if Tanaaz and Bakhtiyar abused each other at Big Boss? Or Sherlin Chopra did a sleazy dance sequence? That is not your taste... "(Although i take quite some time to think if the latter is really not my taste) But i continue watching it as i dont have better things to do in life. Simple. After watching television when my eyes start aching, and face finds it hard to defy the law of gravity and starts drooping out of sleep, i go to bed. Day after day, i follow the same routine. Go to office, come back, watch tv, eat and sleep.

But today, its different. Its a friday and i will make sure i take out time for myself. So after watching television (I could not resist watching it, sleazy dance sequences are not such a bad time pass), i came to my bed and thought of enjoying the night. Bumped on to my cozy bed, got inside my bedsheet, and now i am looking outside the window and the glimpses of my life are running through you mind... A quick Rewind. I just love this period of the year, between Diwali and New year. Pleasant weather, slightly cool, and an exuberant atmosphere. I see a few distant bulbs from my window, which make me think who would be living there? would they be feeling cold? and i even sometimes feel like going and staying there overnight. But for now these remote bulbs are flashing some memories in my head.

Random thoughts:
I remember how as a kid i used to snuggle under my mumma's arms to get a little cozy. How we used to get up on sundays to watch Potli Baba Ki, gobbling down bread omlette and a cup of tea. How I used to go to park with my friends to play cricket and we used to give a collective sigh seeing Uncles and Aunties sitting on a bedsheet spread out in the middle of park where there was maximum sunlight. I remeber the days when i used to go to take tuition classes at 7:30 PM and come back at 10:30 even on winter nights when there used to be no one but lonely streets and barking dogs to give us company back home. How I used to sit at the basket ball court of Khalsa college with my friends discussing if i should try my luck with a Mirandian i used to like or if i should compromise and settle down on my classmate (its a different case that i got none). The memories are so different from each other, but they all have a common chord, u might think its crazy but yes it is this season. Many a times such small little background things leave such an impact on you that they become an integral part of the memories. Like a song reminds you of a particular phase of your life, a dress reminds of you an occasion on which you had worn it, etc. These things may or may not be in the picture but they do make the picture look perfect.

Just realized I am stuck to this age fantacism man... Coming back to present, I have to sleep... ciao.... byeeeeee

Flight to the past...

After spending another day in office, it was time to go back home. Month of May, 6:15 in the evening, sun had begun to set... Unlike the days usually are in month of May, the sky had clouds and winds, giving a bit of relief to people and hopes to mother earth which was getting parched after bearing heat blows for the entire day. For the past one year in office, i have drawn one conclusion, that it is just the age and the environment of the place that stops most people from running to the gates of office, just like school kids do when the day is called off. I was feeling just the same. Folding the cuffs of my shirt, and loosening my tie, i walked down to cab. This twilight time of the day is one of my favourite time slots since childhood as this used to be my play time when i was a kid. Along with 6 other people who slog and rub their arses against the office chair with me, I left for the day. Some took out their phones and started babbling, some closed their eyes to relax after a taxing day, and a few started gossiping about office. I was in no mood to crib and therefore, decided to plug in earphones of my music player and enjoy my solitude amidst crowd. With one my favourite tracks playing "Tanha dil, tanha safar, dhunde tujhe fir kyu nazar..." its mystic video ran through my mind and our cab begun to move... Within a fraction of second, it caught a speed of 90 km/hr, thanks to driver bhaiya who should better be called pilot bhaiya...Its risky, but when its about going back home, nobody stops him from doing that! Wide Gurgaon highway passing by me like a bullet, i leaned on the car seat, and put my head on the back-rest to see wide-blue sky... clouds, birds flying back to their nests, cool breeze caressing my face, my mind took a flight to past and this was the time i took out for myself...

Thoughts of my childhood flashed in my mind, and i remembered the days when at this time i was out of my house holding cricket bat and cosco ball, and called my Friends by shouting their names aloud outside their houses. Play time was a must to reduce the so called "tensions of school"... School, which seemed horrible then, was actually loads of fun. Around April, sessions used to begin, and i used to be totally geared up to go to a new class. Smell of new books and plastic covers of copies, new stationary, drawing file... everything used to infuse a new spirit. I still remember how first day in a new class used to go just in giving introductions, how we used to stand in ques to go to music and art rooms, how shirts and hands used to get stained with ink when we moved to ink-pens from pencils in class 6. It made us feel that we have grown up... pencils are for kids, pens are a sign of maturity! Crazy... how did we not notice any other signs of maturity... specially in girls, which are hard to overlook??? :) Summer vacations, holiday homework, making charts and models, craft work, i miss everything so much.... Where are those days gone? Why cant we still feel the same happiness around us? Only one answer that struck me was that we have stopped living in the moment...

I didn't realize when 45km journey ended and i finally got off my cab to walk to home. It had rained a bit in this area and the smell of wet soil pushed me deeper into nostalgia...Everything was still same around me, children were playing in the colony park, ladies were gossiping and going to buy milk for home, some were taking evening walk... The atmosphere was same... it is just me who has changed...

Perspectives...

Helllooooooo... it has been a long long time since i last wrote anything on my blog... mannnn... i have just become too lazy to do anything in life... don't know what is the purpose, how would my entire life be, and will i continue doing what i am doing right now till i die???? Which is - "NOTHING"??? My perspectives towards life are changing yaar... and sometimes i feel that it is all about perspectives... i mean the fundamental truth and theory of our life is "our perspective". No "geeta saar" can define life, and no osho's philosophy can show you the path to a happy life and salvation... humbug, to me it all can be summed under one philosophy of "perspectives"...

The other day my friends were telling me "Ajay you have changed a lot"... Of course i have, my perspective towards life has changed, with time every person is bound to change... So to all the wives and girlfriends in the world, i am sure you don't think the way you used to when you were young... dolls get substituted by boys and gossips... older you grow they get substituted by just gossips... even older... and finally you get substituted. :)

My boss tells me what are my mistakes, my improvement areas, what i did wrong in my project, but is it necessary that what he thinks i have done wrong is the right logic??? Bloody perspective again.... I supposed what i was doing was right and that is why i did it, now how can you say that his logic of evaluation of a matter is superior to mine??? Bloody bosses....... hmmmmm

Its not about being headstrong or not flexible enough to accept your mistakes, but its just about opening up your mind and thinking from all angles... "Entertaining a stranger thought/idea without accepting is the sign of an educated and developed mind"... Then why most of us think that we are right and the other person is not??? And the shittiest thing is that this set of people includes me......and every person, at some point of time in life...

People say that not everything is black and white... there are shades of grey.... but to me most of the portion in this big picture of life is filled with grey shade... we are not computers, which can defy a logic on the basis of certain set commands and codes... no list of commands or premises can be exhaustive for query of life... calling a thing right just because you think its right is not a very right thing to do... right??? Anyways right think for me now is to think what is right for me to do for the life whichis left! That is setting the right perspective....Ciao...byeeeeeee...

Crescendo of Terror

Its time to celebrate, happiness is all around and fireworks in Mumbai are substantitaing this statement. You must be wondering, what is this shitty sadist guy saying... But I feel whatever is happening is justified, remembering what I read in my primary class' Civics book, "interest of minority must be sacrificed if its for the welfare of majority of people". Now tell me who is not benefitting of this unfortunate attack? First and foremost, terrorists, they have been successful and have managed to create this attack a world issue. Media is taking this attack as a "pot- boiler" event and is making money by making news. Politicians, creating heat in the political arena by using the fire that is burning Mumbai. Lastly, people like us who are callous of what happened and are being mere gallery players... So if I analyze the overall situation, other than a few mumbaikars, hardly anyone of us is affected by it! Aint'it???

This might sound as a satire, but at the same time I also feel this is my frustration that is speaking up. What rights do we have to blame anyone, when we ourselves are not doing anything. I do not blame politicians, i do not blame red tapism in our country, i do not blame security loopholes, i do not blame muslims and i do not blame hindus for it. [On this, sometimes i feel that terror in today's world is actually better than humanity... Hindus or Muslims, its ubiquitous. It atleast does'nt discriminate on the basis of caste. Groups like Al-qaida, LeT and People like sandhya mata are taking care of it well, discharging her responsibility of being a spiritual guru and helping people attain salvation by actually killing them.] The only ones to be blamed are us, who are sitting like pansies and doing nothing... I remember a quote by Shiv Khera here, "if you are not a part of the solution then you are definitely a part of the problem"...Yesterday when I went to the office, everything was functioning normally, no change, nobody was concerned... People were busy discharging roles of organizational citizenship without realizing their citizenship towards country.

But really i cant blame anyone as me, myself have not done anything... I am so ashamed of myself that I am not able to contribute anything when my country needs me... All I can do is express my anger to subside my guilt. Everyone, my family, my friends, my cab-mates say that what can we do, how can we bring a change? How will the lighting a candle or conducting a unity march to india gate bring any relief to the sufferers? But before making a change, a change needs to be initiated... Lets at least send across a message that yes we are all together...
Dekhta hun main jise who chup teri mehfil mein hai,
Aye shaheed-e-mulk-o-millat main tere oopar nisaar,
Ab teri himmat ka charcha ghair ki mehfil mein hai,
Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai...
Wo jism bhi kya jism hai jismein na ho khoon-e-junoon,
Toofaanon se kya lade jo kashti-e-saahil mein hai,
Chup khade hain aaj saare bhai mere khaamosh hain,
Na karo, to kuchh kaho mazhab mera mushkil mein hai,
Sarfaroshi ki tamanna ab hamaare dil mein hai,
Dekhna hai zor kitna baazuay qaatil mein hai...
Elections will be held tomorrow and though we have hobson's choice in terms of candidates, still I will make sure I discharge my responsibility towards my nation. It may not improve the situation, but it will not even worsen it...
I salute the sufferers of Mumbai attack, they have not been the victims of terror, they are the martyrs of this terror attack.

H- "itching" Up!

My hands have been itching for so long to write something on this topic... After reading suspense novels of Alfred Hitchcock, next mystery that my mind wants to unfold is of itch-cocks! Yes, I have been watching other men scratching their private parts in public since chilhood...And one thing that always came to my mind is why? What's the problem? Why dont u get rid of it, if it is troubling you so much...Well it is so common in our uncivilized Indus Valley "Civilization" that as a kid I used to think that this is symbolic of manliness( I mean so many of them used to do it) and did it even when I was not feeling itchy!( No more now, I am much more sophesticated and polished now..:) Scratching is also quite a phenomenon, and their are variety of people who do it in so many ways...There are some who find pleasure in doing this thing, they would keep rubbing it while talking to someone, while waiting, while thinking, while doing everything... Helloooo....you have a ginnie in your willy?? Will it come out by rubbing and fulfill your wishes? Then there are people who do it out of pain, uneasiness keeps disturbing them. But no sympathy for them, c'mon, a bigger sized underwear is not gonna cost a fortune, after all "ye aaraam ka maamla hai". The other day, I met my friend, he was a little disturbed because of his problems, n I noticed one more problem...He stood with me for about 10 mins and not for a single minute his hands got off his balls...Our conversation was something like:

Me: aur ladke, kaisa hai? Howz job going?

He: Kahan yaar, I left that job... 'Nothing is in place', I don't know whats happening. things are going just in the wrong direction'..."Yes, I am so sure of it, you are trying to bring them back to their places with your hands...Moron..."

Me:Don't worry yaar, things will get better...I know, you must be putting in your best..." I can so well see that"...

He: Haan yaar, I am trying...Please see, if you too can help me in some way......." N I almost puked when I imagined me scratching his...Yukk, yukk ,yukkk!

And after that he said, chal yaar kuch khaane chalte hain... EEEMaginee... My orientation got so reinforced...i love girls!

The famous saying that "Life is not cricket" sounds so true to me today...There are no penalties on Ball scratching in real life... :)

Life in a METRO... :)

There is this very good friend of mine, Sunil, with whom I share a strange relation... Every time we meet, our meeting spot becomes the battlefield of kurukshetra and our so called friendly argument turns out to be the third world war. And the bone of contention is not a girl, as we see in popular hindi movies...the main reason for "bhaiyo and dosto mein daraar", but its "pure regionalism"... whether delhi is better or udaipur...oh! if I forgot to tell you that Sunil is not from Delhi, then yes for your information he is an Outsider, and reflects the simplicity of small towns... There is this constant tug of war that goes between us, Delhi, political capital of India, with all ministries, central goverment, a metropolitian city, how can it be even compared to a village like small town Udaipur? or for that matter, any other place? My brain keeps registering, the points that go in favour of my city Delhi, We have Metro, historical monuments, big shopping markets, flyovers, rich and famous people, industries, call centres, sexy youth, delhi university and most importantly it has me! C'mon I am no less than a celebrity...:) For all you people making faces there, let me telll you this is still a modest statement... So what does Sunil have to say after i rest my case? He says we have panoramic views, awesome lakes, natural beauty, a place where you can be alone still not feel bored... I hate those moments when I go dumb and speechless... His words were few but said gazillion of unspoken words and feelings...Yes, what do we have? You sit in your own car with your friend who is a girl because of god's decision and fusion of some XX or XY chromosomes, and for no good reason it creates more than a ripple in the the minds of people and they start hovering around you like bees...Delhi police, which never reaches on time, would this time be right on time, patroling somewhere around you and would ask you to move your car...C'mon give me a break, the world is divided into 3 sects, male, female and transgenders... Our society has not accepted transgenders very well ( which is another issue that just disgusts me to death), I can not be with boys all the time, so I ought to be with girls why does it become such a big issue? People of delhi can be classified into 2 extremes, either they would intrude in your life so much that you wont get space even for yourself, and then others would be so indifferent that they would be living like zombies with no humane feelings left. Then we have youth, full of vanity and shallowness in their behaviour... busy flaunting their hip lifestyle, their attitude and neo-rich class.... Late night parties, booze, fag, is considered to be the hip thing... If you have not gone to disc, people would look at you as an ancestor belonging to some stone age! Yes, one thing that delhi lacks in is "Simplicity", simplicity of thoughts, simplicity of mind, simplicity of heart... Amidst millions of people, somewhere deep inside we, the people of delhi are so lonely... I am sorry if I am generalizing the statement, but atleast i feel so... Delhi has no beautiful beaches, it does not have lakes, weather sucks, stuck in traffic jams we are growing older than other states, politics would make you feel helpless, and growing number of people, buildings, flyovers has left almost no space to see the sky! An honest confession here, if i put it straight is "I dont like Delhi"! Everybody is running, running to achieve, to achieve what, most of us do not know, there is this strange restlessness that i sense everyday, in myself, and in many others...There is no respite in life... And in delhi, there is neither respite, nor life...

Nothing lasts Forever... Except memories

Nothing lasts Forever... Except memories...And when 3 handsome men mingle in the valleys of Aravalli Range and forests of Sariska... Beautiful memories are bound to get created!

My Recent trip to Sariska was one of the most beautiful memories that i will always cherish... 2 is company and 3 is crowd... And our trip was crowded as 3 of us, Kapil, Navjot aka kaka, and me decided to freak out in the jungles of sariska away from hustle-bustle of the city life! Unlike me,if you are one of those who read newspapers more frequently than never, then you must have read that tigers are getting deported to Sariska... I wonder how did they get to know that we are going there??? It was a trip of 1 night and 2 days, and trust me we spent those days as the last moments of our lives... It was so much fun, exotic locations, awesome mausam, proximity to nature... everything was just in place... Except the roads between Alwar and Sariska... Goshhhh... dont ask me how the experience was..Pancreas came to oesophagus, n my tongue touched my feet..Spine suffered unmanageable damages and loss. 1st day of our trip was to sariska wildlife sanctuary spread across a distance of 800 square Kilometers...The jungles were not that interesting as the animals were quite introvert and they refused to come out when they saw unfamiliar guests at their place. But who can stop 3 guys from having fun? One unending and ever interesting topic that is a panacea for boys is "Girls"... fantacies, talks of romance, intimate romance [more often described by a 3 letter word] and sounds of uncivilized language kept us going... Rest of the day we were at our Grand Hotel, "Tiger Den" where three tigers were staying...Masti maza we had there seriously cant be expressed in words... a cliche statement to make, but so true! Next day we went to the Siliserh Lake palace, Alwar museum, and Fort of raja mangal singh and his wife... A very busy day and very exciting with beautiful landscapes, panorama view and excellent pieces of art... It was a lovely trip, pleasure to eyes, mind and soul... but not so pleasurable for my body...Feeling like an egyption mummy whose body will get conveted into a heap of bones as soon as the bandages are removed, and in my case if my clothes are removed...So to give my body some rest, im going to take a crocodile sleep...Zzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Just Employed! And I lived unhappily ever after...

I never believed that strange concepts like Ghosts, vampires, hell etc. existed until i started working! Damn.... Mornings that are considered to infuse new life and rejuvenate people, make me a dead man. My soul rests at home, and body rusts in office! I wonder why offices dont get convicted for the crime of genocide, but as we say there is no room for justice in Kalyuga, innocents like us serve the sentence. Amidst hundreds of Geeks and Nerds serving the sentence along with me, strange thoughts run through my mind...Some prisoners are innocent like me, while others are "professional" rogues, found mostly in higher management cells! Ijust fail to relate anyone with my life or my friends, it feels they were born as employees...Matured, professionals and so irritating...There is no child side to any of them, here I remeber what a very dear friend of mine always say, "what is the point of growing old when you can not be childish at times..." We often confuse the difference between being 'childish' and being 'kiddish' and thats why end up drying our lives. Anyways coming back to where I was, my office life-We have a 10 hour shift & no one better than my arse can explain how painful it is to sit for 10 hours in a place like office! Eyes that were wide open in the morning when I was watching Katreena Kaif on MTv while i was waiting for cab suddenly droop down as soon as mtv gets replaced with fileserver on office intranet. Mouth that was drooling at the sight of our colony bombshell standing at the Bus-stop with the fresh after-bath look, starts yawning in the office as if I have not slept since ages! Tea, Coffee, Chewing gums everything surrender in front of influence of strong sedative termed as Work! I can proudly say I am a workaholic, work acts as an alcohol on me. Languorous feel intoxicates me as if i have eaten belly-full with a full size glass of lassi on a hot afternoon. I appreciate goverment officials so much more now, they are so real, unlike us they are not fake, they sleep shamelessly and explicitly when they feel like. Finally day breaks at six in the evening when I get out of the office, smell the fresh air and take a sigh of relief, thinking that life has changed, time that has passed will not be re-lived. Only thing I can do is cherish the sweet memories of past...no use cribbing man...K Sera Sera....

I salute my mom who is working for the past 23 years giving sweat and blood to her job!

Ridiculous Rituals...Hammering thoughts!

I have two elder sisters & as the society says they have attained "the marriageable age". Now the first thing that clicks my mind is-why this callous society that remains indifferent at most instances of pain, grief and need, suddenly becomes so concerned at the issue of marriage? "Your sisters/daughters have grown old, they are post 25, are you doing something? why are'nt you looking for prospective grooms? are the questions that we encounter just so often... Give us a break! I dont know if its their hunger for grand marriage feast, or the hunger for lovely social gossip that compells and reinforces them to keep shooting barrage of questions like these...Marriages should not be done just to discharge a social responsibility, it should be to find the right compatible companion, and when somebody is able to do that, next big thing you face is horoscope matches, caste uniformity, riti-rivaj, and the endless list of these giant sized issues goes on...My sister is a manglik and so is my companion. This social stigma has blocked my sister's way to happiness twice. On one hand we say "marriages are made in heaven", if this is the case, then let the individual find his/her own partner, how can you trample one's choice or decision of god (as we call as per hindu traditions) underfoot merely on the basis of a human made KUNDLI?How a person born on tuesday is different from a person born a person born on wednesday or any other day? Now let me apply some logic and common sense to defend my case... Person born on tuesday, i.e. manglik is considered to bring ill-luck if married to any other person than manglik, now tuesday is considered to be the day of Lord hanuman, as far as my sampling and observation techniques go, maximum turn- around in temples is on tuesday, its an auspicious day, then on what basis you consider a manglik person unfortunate?
These customs, traditions, cultures are themselves bot clear about anything and create a "catch 22" situation, so called vicious circle, you keep rotating around it and you will never be able to find an end to it. Ram and Sita had their 32 traits matched out of 36, which is said to be the best match ever, then why Sita had to go through exile, Agni-pariksha, Doubt on her character, and other such atrocious acts and situations? We can not call this a happy married life, ain't it?Just imagine, Today, in the 21st century, position of planets years ago, are deciding position of an individual in life... Thats why i feel this so called " marriageable age" of more of unmanageable... these customs, traditions are nothing but like a rocking horse, it keeps you going, but gets you no where...Our destiny lies in our own hands, still there will be millions of people who will take this sentence in an entirely different sense, searching their destiny in the "lines of their hands"...

Reserving Vs. Deserving...

Goshhhh.. I fail to understand what's happenning around us... Every sect in the society needs a reservation, we are well aware of the chaos created by Gujjars recently that brought cities to a standstill... I mean y?? and our humble/saint goverment has given them 5% reservation... If this kind of situation persists, no sooner we will need reservations for general candidates too! Why cant we keep "below poverty line" as the criteria for reservation if our motive is really the upliftment and emancipation of deprived... gujjars call themselves a minority, as far as my understanding goes, that section of society, which has a miniscule proportion of entire population is termed a minority, if this is the case with gujjars then how come handfull of people were able to paralyze our country? What is the need to give reservations on the basis of caste? Instead of stopping and punishing for the nuisance that they created, we have rewarded them with 5% reservation... now everybody who wants something, no matter how illogical and unjustified is, can come up, vandalize public property, harass general public and take what he wants, at the cost of society... Its a sad moment, victory of a caste, over our so called.... secular Nation! huh!
